Environmental construction is not a side service for Flury Earthworks — it is a core part of who we are. We have delivered complex in-stream, riparian, and restoration projects across the Southern Interior for regional districts, municipalities, and provincial clients, working within tight fisheries windows and sensitive ecosystems where getting it wrong is not an option.

Our major hydraulic equipment operates on biodegradable hydraulic fluid, and our crew is trained and experienced in the specific demands of environmental work — from fish salvage compliance and creek diversion to dam removal, riprap installation, and habitat restoration. We hold ourselves to a higher standard than compliance alone, and we lead a genuine Leave No Trace culture on every environmental site we touch.

Featured Projects

District of Lake Country | 2024–2025

Major engineered dam replacement delivering a clean, reliable water source for the District of Lake Country for the next century. Scope included removal of nearly 10,000 m³ of the existing structure, construction of a new 220m × 46m earth-layered dam with 15,000 m³ of imported engineered fill, fusing and installation of two 42″ HDPE inlet and outlet pipes, and a complex 2,000 m³ underwater excavation to remove the temporary cofferdam at project close.

Beaver Lake Dam Replacement - Phases 1 & 2

District of Lake Country | 2024–2025

Full lifecycle operation of a Ministry of Transportation aggregate pit to supply both Beaver Lake Dam phases. Scope included timber clearing across several acres, a 12,000 m³ overburden cut, movement of over 30,000 m³ of material, on-site crushing and screening to meet strict engineered dam specifications, and full site reclamation upon completion.

Crooked Lake Pit

District of Peachland | 2024–2025 | Prime Contractor

Construction of 1 km+ of multi-use trail connecting Peachland with West Kelowna on a narrow highway right-of-way. Scope included 10,000+ tonnes of imported material, geogrid layering, slope stabilization up to 20m high, hydroseeding and Talking Circle construction.

Beaver Lake Cofferdam

District of Lake Country | 2024

Installation of a siphon bypass system using over 1 km of 10″ HDPE pipe to divert water around the existing dam, followed by full cofferdam construction to isolate the existing structure for Phase 2 replacement. Nearly 10,000 m³ of material moved.

Regional District of North Okanagan | 2022 | Prime Contractor

Removal of an existing concrete dam from sensitive riparian habitat within the fisheries window. Scope included bypass culvert replacement, fish salvage, creek diversion, removal of 2,000 m³ of sediment, import and installation of approximately 1,000t of riprap, construction of 10 riffle pools, bank and toe stabilization, site regrading, and restoration planting.

BX Creek Dam Removal & Restoration

Regional District of Central Okanagan | 2022–2023 | Prime Contractor

Accelerated flood mitigation works along Mission Creek following a heavy freshet season. Repairs to three pedestrian bridge abutments and two trail washouts, completed within the Least Risk fisheries window. Scope included streamflow diversion, site isolation, fish salvage, in-water works, riprap installation, trail restoration, and LWD installations.

Regional District of Central Okanagan | 2021 | Prime Contractor

Access road construction through sensitive riparian habitat, cut-off wall installation, Class 1,000 riprap installation to protect the existing bridge from erosion damage, boardwalk and tree removal, trail restoration, planting of 200+ plants, and hydroseeding.
